AURALiC G2 Series Digital Source Products

AURALiC has announced its new G2 Series of digital source products.  The G2 (Grade 2) Series builds on the award winning Vega and Aries products to produce a family of digital source products of even higher sound quality and greater functionality.  The G2 Series does not replace the existing Aries and Vega, but rather extends AURALiC's product line.

The G2 Series will comprise:

  • Aries G2 Streaming Transporter (US$3,899)
    • Galvanic isolation and ultra-clean power supply.
    • Dual Femto Clocks and EMI-shielding chassis, machined from a single billet of aluminium.
    • AURALiC Lightning Link digital interface.
    • 50% faster processor, 100% greater system memory and data storage
    • Compartment for a user-installed 2.5" hard drive or solid state drive.
    • Certified Roon Ready endpoint.
  • Vega G2 Streaming DAC (US$5,699)
    • Fully functional streamer.
    • Galvanic isolation and ultra-clean power supply.
    • Dual 72 Femto Clocks.
    • AURALiC Lightning Link digital interface.
    • 25 times the processing speed of the Vega.
    • Fully passive volume control.
    • Certified Roon Ready endpoint.
  • Sirius G2 Upsampling Processor
    • Provides upsampling and room correction.
  • Leo G2 Femto Reference Clock
    • Lowest jitter and close-in phase noise performance

The AURALiC Lightning Link is a low-jitter, bi-directional 18Gbps digital connection that uses HDMI-syle connectors.

The AURALiC G2 Series will be introduced at High End 2017 in Munich.  The Aries G2 and Vega G2 will be available from 2017-09 while the Sirius G2 and Leo G2 will be available by the end of 2017.

    RE: Auralic G2 series.

    Not that it matters, to any great, or even moderate extent, but for the Aries and Vega G2 not to have digital connections beyond the simple, and compromised SPDIF of their Streamer/DAC will surely disappoint users with existing Streamers or DAC’s that have separate i2S or Word Clock options. Naturally this will impact sales.

    Yet, the designer himself offers up a superior and proprietary (i2S-like) digital interface for use between his Aries (G2 Streamer) and Vega (DAC) !

    Not smart. Which he’ll discover.
